Questions concerning the rental of the location

Together we design a customized package adjusted to your individual needs to make sure your event will be unique. This section provides a huge selection of frequently asked questions collected for your convenience and first orientation.“
The proper space to get creative in the planning process of your conference, event, and wedding. The Messinghof offers an appropriate venue for your purpose attractively located in the heart of Germany.
The idyllic patio in front of the Messinghof is part of the venue and extends the space for your creativity and events. It is perfectly suitable for company events, summer parties, receptions, film productions, dance meetings, and open-air events.
The individual design of the patio and furniture can be organised for a fee.
Location & How to find us
The Messinghof is located in the district Bettenhausen in the immediate proximity of the inner-city of Kassel. Local transportation and a good highway connection allow for an easy arrival.

Conveniently located next to the venue is a parking lot which is opened 24 hours from Monday to Sunday and accessible depending on the availability. Across the street, you will find further parking opportunities.
It is not permitted to park on the patio of the Messinghof.
The ground floor is accessible without steps, and you will find handicapped accessible restrooms there.
Smoking is prohibited in the entire building. If smoke is detected the sensible fire alarm system will engage and the violator has to cover the occurring costs.
Please use the intended smoking areas outside the building.
All floors are equipped with sanitation and accessible from each room. We recommend planning for additional washroom services in the event of 100 guests or more (25,00€ per hour).
An unstaffed wardrobe is available on the first floor.
In cooperation with our external catering partners, we offer you a selection of buffets, set menus, finger food, flying food, as well as midnight and reception snacks. As a matter, of course, we prepare all foods according to your desire, being vegetarian, vegan, gluten- or lactose-free. The individual selection is then charged in agreement with the caterer.
We offer individual beverage flat rates for your event which can be adjusted according to your wishes. You will receive a preselected list of beverages which then can be modified in the event of a modification request.
Our beverage flat rates include by default one red and one white wine. With great pleasure, we offer you beforehand a wine tasting of your selection. In the case of disappointment, you can bring and offer your own wines for a charge of 18 € per bottle.
We organise an external barkeeper on request for an extra charge.
In general, it is possible to bring your own liquor for a charge of 28 € net per bottle. We are happy to consult you on the implementation of your ideas.
Brought Foods / Cake
In general, it is prohibited to bring your own foods. However, for brought cakes, we can charge a fee of 2,50 € per plate per person. The same practice applies to brought sausage and cheese specialties, charged with 2,50 € per plate per person. We kindly ask you to discuss these matters beforehand with our event managing team. In the case of brought foods, we point out the need to find an agreement before the event starts.
Barbecues on the Patio
Barbecues on the patio are a major feature enriching your event. In the event of bad weather, we have to point out that the event manager might relocate the barbecue in the kitchen to maintain the quality of the foods and to optimize the processes.
In 95 percent of the cases, everything takes place as planned – we kindly ask you to understand if barbecuing on the patio is not possible due to the weather conditions and we decide to have a barbecue in the kitchen.
The proper furniture is rented separately in accordance with your demands.
WLAN & Technology
All rooms are equipped with a perfectly aligned interconnected speaker system that works via wireless connections and is voice controlled.
Music and Show
Integrated light strips and speakers (SONOS speaker system) are already included in the rental and guarantee a great atmosphere. Additional spots can be rented for a charge. Brought music systems are not permitted unless coordinated with our event management beforehand. Due to the sensible fire alarm system, the use of fog machines is not allowed. The use of confetti is permitted; however, we point out that additional charges arise due to the increased cleaning efforts. We are happy to get in touch with your DJ / band before the event to discuss the technical situation.
For booked live bands we ask you to note that only electronic drums are allowed and the use of acoustic drums is in general prohibited in the Messinghof.
Fireworks are permitted only after approval which must be obtained in advance.
It is possible to play music outside on the patio until 10 pm. In the case of an extension, the public orders office has to be contacted for an individual permit. In the case of a parallel event, this opportunity is void. The technology has to be rented separately.
Naturally, we offer you the opportunity to get married in the historical Messinghof and celebrate your wedding right afterward in the same location. This option is available on Saturdays as well as on other days of the week – both indoor and outdoor. However, we only grant this convenience to the weddings that book their party in the Messinghof as well. For your planning: The room on the first floor has a maximum capacity of 100 chairs, and the outside area has space for up to 700 chairs. The use of flowers and rice is permitted by arrangement only. We want to mention that this results in increased cleaning costs. It is crucial for our planning to know about your plans concerning the use of flowers or rice in the outdoor area at least 24 hours in advance of the wedding ceremony.
The staff will be charged based on the actual working hours. Additionally, one hour before the beginning and two hours after the end of the event will be charged. Depending on the number of guests, we require a minimum amount of staff in order to provide the best possible service for you and your guests and to meet our quality standard. Therefore, we do not accept self-organized bar and service staff.
